Green Patchwork Dresser
For this dresser I used the Prima Redesign transfer Patchwork on the front dresser drawers. The sides have the transfer In Flight. It was painted in Annie Sloan amsterdam green. That is a fantastic green! Before I apply any transfers I always make sure the paint sits at least 24 hrs. before putting on transfers. Then you want to make sure you go over all the transfers really well (you can use your fingers or a soft cloth) to make sure everything is laying flat before putting on a topcoat. I have lots of how to videos about transfers on my YouTube channel.
On the edges of the drawers I applied some Modern Masters metallic paint in different colors. It is perfectly shimmery. I just added a little bit holding my small brush at an angle and sliding the paint along. I then added even more shimmer with DecoArt metallic waxes. I just rub that on with my finger.
I sealed the piece with Annie Sloan clear wax. I always put on one coat, wait 24 hrs. and then apply the second coat. Her wax is perfectly fine with the transfers. I have YouTube videos you can watch if you do not know about Annie Sloan waxes. I almost always use the wax as the topcoat when I am putting transfers on furniture. You could use Modern Masters dead flat varnish if you don't want to use wax. That topcoat is safe with the transfers too.
