Florence Armoire

Here is the old armoire before painting it. It needed some repairs on it before painting began. The door needed to be adjusted first and it needed a really good scrubbing. I cleaned it really well with denatured alcohol (you can purchase that here at my affiliate link)then wiped it all down with warm water.

Annie Sloan Chalk paint in Florence is what I used for the paint. I thought this particular piece needed a dramatic distressing so I did a lot of rubbing off of the paint. This look is for particular pieces - not all furniture pieces call for this look. What you do is take it off with a damp cloth. You have to keep rubbing it and rinsing out your rag. Once it was totally dry it was all sealed with Annie Sloan wax. I used a mix of clear and dark wax on this one. The door hardware is a vintage piece I found at a preservation store here in Nashvile. The knobs are from Hobby Lobby.

I have lots of how to videos on my YouTube channel.
