Farm Table Refinishing
Here is a farm table we stained and painted. I forgot to take a before photo but I do have a photo of the sanded down table and the finished product. We sanded it down using 80 grit first, then 220. Then I used a tack cloth to remove all the dust (after brushing it all off first with a large old paint brush). After the cleaning we then stained it using General Finishes gel stain in American Oak (1 coat) then Brown Mahogany. I love the color! I used a staining pad for application and a foam sponge. We did 2 coats of that. After a good drying, we sealed it with the GF high performance top coat. Because this is a table I used 5 coats of sealant. Another option for sealing is the gel topcoat from GF. It is made specifically for the gel stains. The bottom part is painted in the GF Basil Milk Paint. I then rubbed on Annie Sloan dark wax on the paint to give it an aged look.

I have videos on my YouTube channel on staining furniture.
